CHL Intervention picking up steam!

The Children’s Healthy Living Program is a research-based effort to address issues related to childhood obesity in the 6 CHL jurisdictions:  Alaska, American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Freely Associated States of Micronesia, Guam and Hawai‘i.  We’ve been in our selected communities to collect baseline data on children and the food they are being served.  We are at a point now where we are looking at and implementing intervention strategies – trying ideas that might change the ways things are done in a household, at a school, or in a community.  In addition, our 22 CHL student’s are hard at work on their advanced degrees in Alaska, Guam and Hawai‘i.  Read all about our efforts in the Jan-Mar 2o14 edition of the CHL Newsbrief.
