CHL team members and University of Hawaii partners attended the American Society for Nutrition’s 2025 NUTRITION conference in Orlando, FL, May 30 – July 3, 2025. The conference offered an opportunity to share our ongoing work and connect with researchers advancing the field of nutrition.


CHL was represented by the following presentations:

Sabine Strasburger, CHL Data System Associate: Sociodemographic Disparities in SNAP Participation Among Hawai‘i Households: Findings from the Children’s Healthy Living Program
Ashley Yamanaka, CHL Assistant Director: Examining the Impact of SNAP Participation on Food Security in Hawai‘i’s Households with Young Children
Recently graduated CHL Trainee Pauline McFall, CHL collaborator Mary Scanlan (Administrative Officer, American Samoa), and Assistant Professor Chloe Lozano (Population Sciences in the Pacific Program, University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center) were also in attendance.
The conference provided insight on novel research in nutrition around the world. We look forward to attending next year’s conference!
