The CHL Food Systems Annual Meeting was held on July 13-17, 2026, in Homer, Alaska. This year’s meeting took place at Land’s End Resort, which provided a beautiful setting for reflecting on five years of work and envisioning CHL’s future. The meeting included updates from across the CHL jurisdictions and workgroups, ripple mapping, strategic visioning, and planning sessions focused on strengthening partnerships and advancing resilient food systems that support children’s health. We were honored to welcome Tikaan Galbreath and Brandon Putuuqti Kowalski from the First Alaskans Institute, who led sessions on Alaska Native cultures and food systems and the role of Traditional Ecological Knowledge in Western science. Attendees also participated in three site visits: the Pratt Museum, the Homer Farmers Market, and Seldovia Village, where we learned about local food-access programs, regional agriculture, and the food-systems environment of an Indigenous Alaska Native community.
