1.0 Introduction and Learning Objectives

Welcome to the Children’s Healthy Living Program (CHL) and the CHL Food System Grant. The goal of CHL is to build a social, cultural, political, economic, and physical environment in the Pacific Region that supports active play and eating healthy food, in order to promote health. This module is divided into six sections. Each section covers important aspects of CHL and its centers. The lessons consist of PowerPoint presentations, recorded presentations, and a knowledge check.

By the end of this module, you will be able to…

  • Describe the different centers in the CHL Food System Grant 
  • Describe the importance of involving the community in interventions
  • Describe the process of how CHL obtained input from community collaborators to implement CHL activities
  • Understand the data CHL collected and the measurement tools used   
  • Understand Group Model Building (GMB) within the CHL Food System Grant
